What does decentralized energy production mean?It means producing energy locally, close to use. It is a favorable alternative to centralized power generation, which is (still) traditional today.

What will happen to the KÁT system in the future?The “old” KÁT system in force since 2002 - resp. its modified version, introduced in 2008, will remain for current KÁT producers until the expiration of the long-term contracts in force. However, new permit applications could be submitted to the “old” KÁT system by 31 December 2016 at the latest. Renewable producers applying after 1 January 2017 are already applying for the establishment of new capacity in the METÁR system, in their case the “new” METÁR-KÁT system will be valid. It is free to switch from any KÁT system to the market Premium system, but withdrawal is not possible.

Questions about solar parks

Does the solar panel produce in winter?The instantaneous production of solar cells is also affected by the ambient temperature. Solar panels produce up to 20% less during the summer heatwave than in winter, minus ten degrees Celsius, with the same radiation. However, the duration and intensity of summer irradiation is significantly higher than in winter, so the amount of energy produced is significantly higher in summer.

What kind of land is needed for a solar park?A small power plant built of fixed panels with a power of nearly 500kW requires an area of at least 1.3-1.5 hectares. Be it an area taken out of cultivation or one that can be easily extracted. Withdrawals will be free from January 2, 2018. Construction should not conflict with a local zoning plan. The plot should not be under nature protection or landscape protection. If the transmission line passes through the plot, this area should be outside the safety zone. A flat, shadow-free, horizontal, or slightly south-sloping area is required. An area where there is a medium voltage network connection within a reasonable distance (up to a few hundred meters). The production line to be laid up to the connection point requires a line right permit, the acquisition of which requires the consent of the maintainer and / or owner of the utilities, roads and other plots owned by the line.
